Larry David says he once told Mike Maccagnan to draft Lamar Jackson ahead of the 2018 NFL draft.

Comedian Larry David stopped by The Michael Kay Show to promote the upcoming season of his new show and talk New York sports. David told Michael Kay that he urged then-New York Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan to draft quarterback Lamar Jackson out of Louisville with the No. 3 overall pick.
The Jets ended up selecting quarterback Sam Darnold from USC. Jackson fell to the final pick of the first round and was taken at No. 32 by the Baltimore Ravens. Despite being the 2016 Heisman Trophy winner, many had their doubts about Jackson as a quarterback in the NFL but he refused to switch positions.
"I did call Mike Maccagnan before the 2018 draft and I recommended that he draft Lamar Jackson," David said. "I have a witness."
David added that Maccagnan laughed at him and gave him a condescending response.
This season, Jackson has proved all those doubters wrong as he led the Ravens to a No. 1 seed along with 3,127 yards and 36 touchdowns. Darnold and the Jets missed the playoffs. The Jets' quarterback missed some time due to mononucleosis but returned for a campaign where he threw for 3,024 yards and 19 touchdowns.
